WI Supreme Court Justice Prosser Must Go

Bill Lueders, Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism:

“Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice David Prosser allegedly grabbed fellow Justice Ann Walsh Bradley around the neck in an argument in her chambers last week, according to several knowledgeable sources.”

and

“In March, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that, in a disagreement over a case last year, Justice Prosser had called Justice Abrahamson a “total bitch” and threatened to “destroy” her. Prosser, the paper reported, confirmed making the remarks, saying he “probably overreacted”…”

ThinkProgress details 4 different ways Prosser can be removed from office, adding:

Wisconsin is obviously caught in some deep ideological battles, including an impending recall election that will determine control of the state senate. If there is one issue that should transcend party lines, however, it is the basic fact that no one is allowed to lay hands on a sitting judge. Should the allegations against Prosser prove true, it is tough to imagine a truer sign that our political system has broken down than if the calls to remove him from office are not unanimous.

Not much more to say here other than this guy needs to go.

iTunes Account + iCloud Account? Nope

Apple:

If I use different accounts for iTunes and MobileMe, can I merge them into a single account and use it with iCloud?

No. You cannot merge two accounts into one. However, you will be able to move your MobileMe account (yourname@me.com) to iCloud and, if you choose, you can continue to use a different iTunes account for store purchases and iTunes in the Cloud.

GOP Leaders Have Redrawn Maps

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Legislative leaders have redrawn maps for the Assembly and Senate and could be ready to vote on them in the coming weeks, but they are closely guarding their plans for their districts and many lawmakers have yet to see them.

For those outside of Wisconsin politics, this is presumably to help benefit them in the upcoming recall elections.  Because they can.

Booking and Screening

Kevin Kelly, The Technium:

The primary shift is one of thinking of the book as a process rather than artifact. We are moving from the culture of the book to the culture of booking. Our focus is no longer on the book, the noun, but on booking, the verb — on that continuous process of thinking, writing, editing, writing, sharing, editing, screening, writing, screening, sharing, thinking, writing — and so on that incidentally throws off books. Books, even ebooks, are by-products of the booking process.

Yummy.

When was the last time you were charged based on the amount of Internet you used?

Josh Levy, FreePress.net:

According to documents given to Android Central, starting July 7 new Verizon Wireless customers will be asked to choose from among three data plans: $30/month for 2GB of data, $50/month for 5GB, and $80/month for 10GB. Overages run at $10 per additional gigabyte.

As mayor of the Internet, I want you to think really hard.

What does 3GB of data, traveling over the a network, during the span of a month, “look like”?  How much more “resource” is necessary?

More importantly, why does it cost more a month from now than today?

Do you even remember the last time you were charged based on the “amount” you used?  Remember when Internet was sold in blocks of minutes/month?  Remember how well that worked?
