Use Your Facebook Account on My Blog

I just integrated Facebook Connect with WordPress here at http://www.ijohnpederson.com.

Think “single sign-on”, i.e. “use your Facebook credentials while commenting on my site”, i.e. “Facebook rolling up the entire world” in their community. Nice little checkbox at the end of any comment “Would you also like to post this to your Facebook page?”

Facebook is consuming a serious amount of my attention lately.  Adding 150 million active user accounts in 5 minutes is pretty cool.

Giving it a whirl. Pretty cool! Integration is always good. Sorta like OpenID, but different.

Always liked OpenID but it felt wonky to me. Almost never wound up using it.

So, when I get a virus from my wife’s grandmothers older cousin Mabel, will it shut down ijohnpederson too?

Interesting idea… though Eric does ask a salient question…

I installed it on my site, but I’m not totally convinced of it’s usefulness. I haven’t yet seen why this is any better than just sharing my content on facebook, but I had to do it to keep up with the pederson’s.

Maybe I am missing something – I have checked several posts and I have not seen a checkbox at the end of any of the comments. Have you removed this feature?
